I used to have a BPI Express Credit Card. I stopped using it several years ago. Apparently I made an over payment of P3,500 as evidenced by the monthly statement of account they’ve been sending me every single month for the past three years at least.
I remember calling their customer service hotline a few times in the past requesting for a refund. I have also faxed twice my request including a copy of the statement of account.
Nung una, hinayaan ko lang. Pero sayang naman yung 3,500.
I want them to refund to me the 3,500. If I have a balance of ten pesos in my credit card bill, hindi pwedeng hindi ko babayaran. Sisingilin nila ako and they would slap me with astronomical interests, penalties and surcharges.
A few days ago I decided to follow up thru their 89100 hotline. It took away some of my valuable time by listening to the prompts and waiting for the next available real person to answer the phone.
They requested me to email my request, plus two government issued IDs front and back. She also told me to give the customer service hotline a call to inform them that I have already emailed my request and I have to inform them too what time I sent the email. The mere thought of calling them makes me inis already. It’s just too time consuming.
I emailed my letter of request plus two copies of my IDs. Yesterday I received a response that I have to sign the letter of request or else they would disregard my request. This morning, I had my letter printed, signed, and re-sent to them.
Ngayon naman, they are asking me to send proof that I indeed overpaid them.
Huh? I got so irritated. They were even asking me where I paid the bill? Sa mall ba? How the ef would I be able to remember? That was years ago and our messengers were the ones going out to pay my bills. I have to dig my old files to look for that BPI express credit card payment slip.
They should just look at their computer files. The mere fact that they’ve been religiously sending me a statement of account showing I have an over payment shows they indeed owe me some money.
They make it hard for customers. It’s just a simple refund and the amount is small. They have their proof. Their own files!
I was so mad and the customer service on the other line was also irritated with me but trying to control herself.
If you don’t want to give me the 3,500 that’s fine. But stop sending me statement of account every single month. Pampa-dagdag kalat yan sa bahay namin at sa mundo.
Kakahighblood especially i have recent encounter with them too.
BPI used to be my preferred bank. Savings and credit card. Walang exaggeration.. Almost 1 hour ang hinihintay ko before im able to speak with a representative. Palaging ganon. Usually madaling araw pa nga yan eh. Kahit yung pila sa branches nila, hours talaga! Until 1 day, naisip ko.. Hehe.
The very last time i called them, i think that time sure na ako na ika-cancel ko na yung card. Pero i had to redeem a thousand worth of gift card from my points. Dahil 1k pesos din yun, tiniis ko talaga. Walang biro.. i waited for an hour and a half! Siguro more than 2 years ago na yun. Mukhang wala. Hehe..
why don’t you just use the 3500? go on shopping, grocery, dining or whatever you need and charge it to your credit card.. they will just deduct that. It’s easier than asking for a refund.
I can’t. The credit card expired long time ago and for me to have it re-issued, I have to re-apply again according to them. It’s not as simple as having a replacement card sent to me.
