I didn’t want to go beyond my self-imposed one hour short visit in Guimaras.
I really had no intention to extensively explore this island. At saka sobrang init. I was happy to have a few photos that would remind me years from now that I’ve been to this place. Okay na yun.
Maybe this bakery makes pande coco. I didn’t want to stop because ang init dito.
On our way back to the wharf, we made a quick stop at The Pitstop. This was also a recommendation of the tourist desk when I inquired where I could go for a cold drink.
I bought three bottles of cold Coke for the tricycle driver and Fernando. I didn’t order anything for myself. I also wanted to go back to Iloilo asap. I was sticking to my one hour limit. Medyo tila lumampas na yata ako ng 15 minutes.
I noticed the tricycle driver was asking for commission or token from the cashier in Trappist and here too in Pitstop. I only paid P36 for the two softdrinks and sya rin naman ang uminom nung isang bote. i didn’t eat nor shop for souvenirs here. Medyo hindi gaanong bright yung driver. Kala nya siguro nagshopping din ako dito. We only stopped here because I wanted the two of them to have a cold drink.
We reached the pantalan in 10 minutes. I gave the tricycle driver P500 and his face lit up upon seeing the P500 bill. Dapat P360 round trip.
The ride back to Iloilo was a little choppy, just a little.
I was scared to ride in smaller boats so I chartered a big one, as big as the boat I took going to Guimaras.
We reached Ortiz Wharf in 15 minutes. There were stores and vendors along that narrow wharf. I bought two kilos of Cagayan lanzones for P100 a kilo. I later learned that the price in the market was P50 – P80. Mura ano?
