Seafood Lunch at Tatoy’s

October 15, 2018 Monday

My hope to have a probinsya-type-kind-of-lunch in Guimaras didn’t happen because it was so hot in Guimaras. I didn’t want to stay longer than the one hour I initially estimated. I went beyond by half hour because the tricycle ride was a little slow. I also visited a chapel and went shopping for about 15 minutes. I also stopped to buy cold soft drinks for the tricycle driver and my alalay for the day, Fernando. All that took extra time.
I was back at the Ortiz Wharf in Iloilo City by 3 pm, with no lunch yet.

I asked the taxi driver to bring me to a seafood restaurant with air condition. He recommended Tatoy’s. They have a branch in the city so we didn’t have to drive all the way to their original location near the Villa beach.

Tatoy's

Tatoy's restaurantI just wanted to eat a few oysters and a crab.

The crab was priced per piece based on the size.  I specifically requested for a big one but they served me this gym-freaking crab from Slimmers World.

I only wanted to eat a few oysters,  like maybe 6 pieces max but one plate have so many,  parang mga 20 pieces.  Hindi daw pwede half order lang.   Huwag na lang kasi hindi ko mauubos.

I changed my mind after a few minutes.  I ordered one whole plate of steamed fresh talaba.  Ang mura lang pala,  P90 for one whole plate.

I mixed toyo with kalamansi plus two drops of sinamak vinegar, namit gid!

I ordered one more crab kasi wala na akong ulam. And just like my first order I requested for a big one. They gave me an even slimmter one.
