Bye Helsinki, Back to London

May 8, 2019

First time I had breakfast at the Hotel St. George.  Yesterday I just asked Edmund to get me some boiled eggs and a croissant but they didn’t have croissants.   Since it was our last day in Helsinki,  I wanted to see what kind of breakfast they have.

Salve and Aigina were leaving at a later flight to Manila via Istanbul. The rest were going on an extended vacation to St. Petersburg. I couldn’t join this tour for lack of time.
Edmund and I took Uber to the airport. The driver was a 34 year old from Somalia, super enthusiastic about life kind of guy. He is married with two kids and is sooo happy about how good his life is. Yes, he also has day to day concerns and unfulfilled dreams but the way he views life is full of positivism. He sees his world as full of potential and happiness. He sees his future with certainty, that one day he would be someone living in a big house, someone truly successful.
All throughout the ride from St. George to the Helsinki airport, he was talking nonstop about his past, present and future. I wish this boy great success and happiness.

I dozed-off and before I knew it we were already at the airport.

It was a smooth two hour and forty minutes flight from Helsinki to London Heathrow.

Here comes London.. Brexit or not.

Looking for me?

We took our tiime at the Healthrow airport. We looked for a cafe. He ate the burger I ate the potato fries.

We took Uber to Holiday Inn Mayfair. This was our first time to stay in this hotel and in this area. Oyen was the one who picked this location. She said it’s about time that we get to know other parts of Central London and not just Chinatown and Covent Garden.
We liked our room. It’s spacious, no wonder it’s called the Family room. The hotel is a bit old.

After we’ve dropped our bags, we walked towards Picadilly circus and occasionally stopping for photos.
