I could hear the sound checking from our room coming from the wedding reception venue. My husband said we would wait till it gets dark before we go to the cocktails reception. He went down to the lobby to meet his friends Elmer de Leon and Zaldy Villa, while I put on make-up. After about 15 minutes he went back to the room and told me we should go.
We rode a golf cart to go up to the cocktails venue, while his friends walked and climbed the stiff road.
We were given two pieces of wrapped souvenirs that looked like candies on a small ceramic tray, but unfortunately, my husband lost them. He forgot that he placed them on one of the tables.
Kaya pala the barquillos looked familiar.
He bought that jacket specifically for this wedding kasi daw nakalagay summer suit or barong. Eh ayaw nya barong.
I was in love with the unusually long table. If only I have the space, I would buy a kilometric long dining table.
Lechon and sisig prepared on the spot
There were at least two lechons aka dead pigs. SumaLangit Nawa (SLN).
The guys wanted to move to the airconditioned room but when I checked it out, mainit din and there were no more space for us to sit.
I could see the airconditioned tent where the dinner reception would be held. (Fast forward– we found out the next morning that the tent was built by the father of the groom for his son’s wedding.)
It was getting dark and part of the sky turned pink. What a romantic backdrop.
Cocktail lights and bread sticks
As soon as the clouds and the sun disappeared, a short fireworks display illuminated the sky. The way things were going, I could tell that this would be a grand wedding reception.
