Last April / May, we confirmed that it’s less expensive to buy Louis Vuitton merchandise in Europe than in America and Asia. Their prices are a few hundred dollars lower than in HK, Manila, and the US. My sister vowed no longer to buy from the stores in the US where she lives, but rather, just wait till she visits Europe again. She said next time she comes, she would buy two Louis Vuitton bags.

But of course, this cannot always be the case. Buying a bag also depends on ones’ mood. A lot of times, you buy based on impulse, and need. When you need it, you cannot wait till you travel to Budapest or Vienna to buy an LV.

On our last day in Vienna last May 2, 2015, Oyen and I went to the LV store. I spotted this Kensington canvass bag that was just released two days before. I liked it a lot but didn’t buy it because my son had just bought for me, from LV Budapest, the same Damier Ebene pattern although the one I got was more expensive.

I sent my sister the photo and she instantly fell in love with it. She said she would save up for it. I told her to wait till someone goes back to Vienna so she could get it a little bit cheaper.  Baka kako next year.

She got lucky.  She didn’t have to wait for another year.  She was back in Europe in less than 6 months.

They have a limited edition Speedy mask, available just this winter season. It’s nice for younger women.

While waiting, I checked-out LV’s luggage bags. They’re so heavy because they’re real leather. Wala pang laman eh hindi ko na mabuhat.

Aileen made do her promise. She plunged right in. I told her it could be cheaper in Vienna, but she decided to buy the Kensington bag that she wanted right here. Okay, I told her basta wag syang iiyak pagdating namin sa Vienna, baka ma upset sya kung mas mura doon. At saka kako, wag na nyang itanong ang presyo.

  1. What a nice shopping experience. What’s in the other bag? 🙂 Better to have paid a bit more than miss buying your coveted item. It’s hard to predict what inventory they will have. In the US, Hawaii has the lowest LV prices. That mask series is fun. LV’s answer to the Fendi monster.
