Dinner at KINSmoke Barbecue Restaurant

Feb 21
This was one of the three places recommended by the H2 Hotel concierge when we asked where we could have dinner.

We swung by the first two restaursnts but they were fine dining. We didn’t want to have a formal dinner, with all the bulky abd heavy jackets we were wearing. We just wanted to have a quick, relaxed dinner. It was chilly and our bodies were already dreaming of a good night’s rest.

KINSmoke Barbecue Restaurant was a 5 minute walk from the hotel. We instantly nodded our heads when we saw that it was casual. It was almost full when we got there but we were lucky there was one table that just got vacated.

While waiting for the young waitress to clean it, I observed the profile or ethinicity of the diners. I didn’t see any Asian. There was one black guy in his early 30s with all male white companions. They all looked professional. Very refined demeanors. Other diners were families, and all female friends. Because of the dozens or hundreds of random attacks on Asians in the US, I was just observing how those diners would react to our presence. Wala naman. Maybe those unfortunate incidents were prevalents only in big cities like Los Angeles, New York, and San Francisco, where homelessness and drug addictions abound.

While waiting for our food, we were teasing Nyke about moving to Healdsburg to find a girl.

Edmund was curious about the dating apps. He was helping Nyke choose which photos looked okay. Iba na talaga ang generation ngayon. Bakit nung araw eh nakakahanap naman ng mga dates ang kabataan eh wala namang apps nuon. By the way, have you watched Tinder Swindler on Netflix? If you haven’t, please go watch it. It’s worth your while and what you’ll see is a good warning to all, both men and women.

Edmund, dating apps

I was looking for the sweet and salty Filipino barbeque sauce. American BBQ is sour for my taste.  Sanay sko sa medyo manamis-namis at maalat-alat na barbecue.  Ayoko nung maasim na parang may suka,
