Dinner at The Grille in Blackhawk, Danville

Nov 8, 2020, Sunday

After a remarkable feast for the eyes and visual experience at the museum. we headed to The Grille at the Blackhawk Mall. This upscale restaurant closed its doors during the first wave of the pandemic and I felt happy that they reopened. I know what business owners go through to sustain their operations, and I have tremendous empathy and sympathy for owners experiencing challenges. I get affected when I see stores are closing. I feel for the owners who invested their time, money, and passion. Businesses folding up or having difficulties also means many people lose their jobs. That is sad.

They have outdoor dining but I couldn’t bear the cold even with portable heaters. It was almost zero degrees outside and I was afraid of catching a cold that could otherwise be mistaken for covid virus.

Blackhawk Grill dinner

Bong and I both ordered cheese burger.  He said it was good but his loyalty is still with Marche Bacchus in Las Vegas.
A juicy burger with fries served in a metal basket on a dark table.
Fish and Chips are normally slices of fish fillet but The Grille gave Aileen one whole fish. It was good for 3 people.
Crispy fried fish fillet with coleslaw and dipping sauces.

A person smiling at a restaurant table with food and drinks.
We took the risk of dining in because it was just freezing outside.  The restaurant was spacious and social distancing was very much possible.
Cozy restaurant interior with wooden floors and pendant lighting.

Cozy outdoor fire pit glowing warmly at night under an archway.
