I invited over a young (26) Oh my buhay reader to come have dinner with me tonight at our house. When I told Edmund that I have one guest, he said “Bakit isa lang? Hindi mo pa dinamihan”.

Wala naman kasing party and I didn’t actually intend to have a big gathering. Epza did me a big favor recently and I just wanted to personally thank her.

When Edmund encouraged me to invite a few more, last minute I emailed two other persons but they were not available. Then I remembered a loyal and very kind reader of mine, I emailed her last night and she responded by giving me her cellphone number. I was busy today and yun pala I didn’t call her nor provided her with further details. My fault.

I left the office at 3 pm. I arrived home at 4 pm. One hour lang. Pero the past three days, ramdam ko ang sakit ng pwet, balakang bewang, legs, for sitting for 3 hours a day in the traffic. Sometimes 4 hours. Terrible.

I couldn’t decide what plates to use. Una, I placed the pink and white roses, American Beauty, kasi girls yung bisita. Pero hindi bagay sa table. The plates were too small for the size of the charger.
Then I got the Lenox with butterfly design, parang hindi ko feel, then I placed white and blue, parang too manly naman.
Fourth try, parang this gilded green lattice fits. Eto na lang.

One piece of shell is missing from this made in India plate charger. That’s what happens when you let maids wash it.

No one likes to use printed table napkins that I place on the table. Ewan ko ba, even if I tell my family to use them, ayaw pa rin. Dapat gagamitin kasi mag-aamoy luma because of the humidity.

For tonight’s dinner, I opened a pack of Herend paper napkins I recently bought in Budapest.

The table looks bare. Something is missing.

Alam ko na, flower centerpiece. I asked Rose to pick some flowers from our tiny gilid-gilid garden. I used a porcelain sugar bowl as flower vase. It’s small and not proportionate to the size of the table but I like it that way. It won’t clutter the table and will not occupy space. Cute lang sya hindi agaw pansin na parang sa wedding.

I am not fond of putting table runners. Parang naguguluhan ako pag meron. I very seldom use table runners, only when there are special occasions. Hindi rin lagi, minsan lang.

It still looks bare. Hayaan mo na nga.

I instructed my driver to wait outside the village gate so Epza could spot him right away. Aba nung tinawagan ko eh he parked inside the village. He told the security guards daw to call him na lang when she comes. I asked him to go outside of the gate. He insisted to just wait inside and let the guards call him. Tatlong beses kong inulit na lumabas na sya para madali syang makita. Nainis na ako. I raised my voice and told him “bakit ba ang kulit mo!”.

I told him to meet her at the village gate para hindi sya maligaw. Marami kasi kaming guests nagkaka-ligaw-ligaw dito sa loob ng subdivision.

My son was about to leave to join his friends for dinner. I asked him to wait for a few minutes so he could say hi to my guest. He agreed naman.

I was actually expecting another guest but we had a miscommunication. I wasn’t able to message her earlier to confirm. Although I emailed her at 5:30 pm to remind.

Here’s my one and only guest. She brought a big chocolate cake from Mary Grace (Thank you).
Epza Curameng

Epza came from St. Luke’s Global and she still had a ball of cotton taped on her arm. She had blood test daw.

I thought her name Epza was a combination of her parents’ names or only her nickname. Yun pala she was named after the Export Processing Zone kasi her parents exported garments to the US. The good thing about her name is it’s unique, there’s no other name like hers.

I only served the pasta and salad kasi mahina daw sya kumain. We’re supposed to serve also pan-fried fish fillet and crisy lechon.

I ate a tiny slice of the chocolate cake. Why daw too small. I would surely eat again when Edmund comes home. She also didn’t want to have any dessert. We have banana split and moon cake.

I didn’t ask when and how she found my blog.
When she saw my curio cabinet with displays of some cups and saucers, she told me that after reading my blog, she started looking at their dinner plates at home and checking the bottom.

Thank you Epza for joining me for a quiet and simple dinner.
