I invited my friend Lyn and her husband Tante to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant. They spent the holidays in Manila but I wasn’t aware that they just got back to the US the day that I texted her. Perfect timing. Meron pa silang jet-lag.
We had dimsum and a few dishes. Ayaw namin tumaba.
I ordered hot red bean soup and this traditional buchi.
We had a good dinner. The food was good and we had such a great time laughing at our common experiences doing home repairs. The ceiling in Lyn’s house in Quezon City caved in due to water leaks. Just like in many home repairs, the work multiplied and she ended up redoing other areas of the big house and tripling her budget.
My sister also renovated their toilets and ripped off the carpet in their master bedroom and replaced it with wood.
They all had a big laugh when I told them about Edmund and the band-aid.
