We went to Diotay Eatery for our first dinner in Bacolod.
Only a two- minute drive from Seda Hotel, the seafood restaurant boasts of fresh seafood from the waters of Negros.
The kubo-like structure greets visitors with an array of the freshest seafood such as scallops, tuna, lapu-lapu, alimasag, etc.
I pity these lovely creatures. They looked like they were choking from the greens stuffed in their mouths. Kawawa.
Damu man klase ang isda dire.
Daku man sila gid.
I would not dare touch nor eat this.
They also have ready to grill chicken paa, pitso, pork liempo, etc.
We went to the airconditioned section although Edmund wanted to eat in the more casual dining area without aircon.
Sinamak is my husband’s favorite sawsawan.
We ordered sinigang and this came. It was more like sinabawang isda.
Shrimps with lots of garlic. I love shrimps and garlic but I did not get a single piece of this dish because I got so busy eating alimasag.
Nuong araw, pag ang ulam namin ay alimasag, sasabihn ng papa ko sa mama ko “nakoooo, bumili ka na naman nito, hindi ako makakakain…” Kasi, my father would be so busy removing the crab meat from its shells and placing them on Aileen’s and my plate.
Preska ang alimasag dire.
Scallops with butter and garlic
We thought we ordered too much food.
Kuya Lito, Dimple, and the newlyweds.
Manamit ang pagkain dire sa inyo Diotay. We shall return.
