Driver Points a Gun at Taxi Driver

I’ve seen snippets of this news but I never bothered to read the full length of the new report because in my mind I already knew what happened.

Metro Manila roads are narrow and super congested. We have huge vehicles and we pass through highly populated areas full of parked jeepney, squatters or illegal settlers, tricycles, vendors, etc. Just to clear one stretch out is stressful kasi baka merong masagi.

Even along EDSA, there have been a few instances when some angry dude would race against us and crazily honk his horn. I would ask my driver “Kinat mo ba yung kotse?” Always, my driver would say “Hindi po”.

One time along Katipunan near Whiteplains, my driver that time hit the side mirror of one car. The owner/driver got off and he was so so mad. I also got off. He was short of punching or strangling my driver. I didn’t say a word. Before we got off I just told my driver to apologize. But the guy wouldn’t stop, galit na galit talaga. Wala namang damage yung side mirror nya, tumupi lang. It just folded. If it was damaged, I would have offered to replace it, pero ni wala namang gasgas.
Kung may baril yun or kutsilyo siguro sinaksak na kami.

One time naman in Ortigas Avenue, merong jeepney driver who was making siksik us. I was in a small car. My driver moved away from the jeepney, but the jeepney moved towards us and trying to egg us out. Para bang mauubusan sya ng kalye. My driver moved a little bit to the right. I saw my driver got his gun from the car’s floor. He removed it from the holster. I stopped him “Rolly, ibaba mo yan, wala tayong mapapala, lalo tayong maaabala. Iwasan na lang natin at baka lasing o naka shabu. Kung mapatay mo yan kawawa yung mga pamilya nya”. My driver made kabig the manubela and we sped off.

One time naman we were in Pasong Tamo, we didn’t have a dealership in that area yet. My driver was entering a driveway, umatras sya ng konti kasi pataas yung bangketa. There was a car pala behind us. He honked his horn continuously. We stopped and I told my driver to check if we accidentally bumped him. Galit na galit yung lalaki. I told another person to go out and check, then another person. Tatlo sila dun pero all three were quiet, but the driver of the vehicle was so mad. I got off and ako mismo ang tumingin sa kotse nung lalaki. I told him, “nagulat ka lang, nanerbyos ka kala mo nabangga ka”. He insisted nabangga sya. To pacify him, I just told him to bring his car to Ford EDSA and we would fix whatever is the damage. He never brought his car, eh kasi wala naman talagang bangga. He actually was not thinking right. He was just so mad but he didn’t realize there were three burly and armed guys in front of him who were just patiently watching him.

In the case of Billy Ang Tan, not because a video showed him pointing his gun means he’s bullying the taxi driver. Is the video clip long enough to tell the complete story?

The other side of the story is the taxi driver stabbed him and the taxi driver chased his SUV and cut him. Dapat the taxi driver sped off na lang. He should have controlled his temper too. Chasing Billy’s car is a clear provocation. I would get so scared if another car would chase us and cut us. That would mean, that guy wants a fight. I would also act in self-defense.

If and when confronted with a bad situation like that, just leave. Try to control your temper. Never mind the gasgas ng kotse, it can be fixed. Malaking abala and gastos. You will earn that money back, the more important thing is you are safe and can go on with your life. Forget YOUR EGO and Pride. Marami nyan sa grocery.

Buti naman friends na kayo.
