Edmund’s teammate and good friend Chino Raymundo. Chino was telling me that when he first joined the Fil-Am tournament some 20 years ago, majority were American players. Now, out of the 1,500 players who joined this year, maybe no more than 20 were Americans.
My husband scored 1 over on their first day which gave them a good lead over their opponents. The other team was also equally good. Edmund played against a Korean who scored 6 under and even made a hole in one winning a brand new car. Ang galing daw according to Edmund. It was Edmund’s turn but he let the Korean go first, hayun biglang naka-hole in one. Even if Edmund went ahead and hit the ball first, I don’t think he would make a hole-in-one. Not because he was not good enough, but because it was not meant to be. By the way, a hole-in-one has a lot to do with LUCK and tsamba.
He and his teammates did not do well on the second day which made them drop to second place giving their opponent a 3 stroke lead. Edmund still scored the highest but it was not enough to maintain their lead. On the third day, their team recovered and won by one stroke. The champions are champions again.
Congratulations dear husband and to Team Luisita Golf and Country Club.
