Education is the key to getting out of poverty

We live in a country where millions are living below the poverty line and where education is not available to all. A good education can be the key to getting out of poverty.

Education, work experience, exposure, interaction with people and different situations make a person smarter and broad minded. It hones our perception of things and make us better individuals. It removes our biases and misconceptions about things. It makes a person more well-rounded and objective, constructive and hopefully a person’s understanding of many things around him would make him a better person and adds value to the community he lives in. He will not only be able to get himself, his family out of poverty but he may be able to help others uplift their lives too.

A well-rounded and educated person is able to decide better and analyze things better. A simple example is woman who has no education. She lives in with someone whom she now calls her husband. She spreads her legs at his beck and call. After their seventh children, she still refuses to say no to her effing partner because she believes as his wife, it is her obligation na “gamitin” ng mister nya. Many women still refer to the act of sex as gamitin ng asawa. Gamitin is for things. Women who are less educated see their preks x 2 as a thing na gagamitin ng asawa. Ano yan, palanggana na gagamitin? Tsinelas na susuutin?

Women who reached at least college level will have a different view of this gamitin thing. See? Education plays a big role in how we run our lives, on how we view the situations around us.
