I am looking for some nice design resource material for a cottage / country / farm house.
Most of the designs nowadays are modern or Asian modern.
I actually know what I want. I have my own design and decorating style that evolved through my years of traveling abroad. However, I must stick to what I can afford only. I want a farm house that’s classic if there’s such a thing.
I like the doors and windows of this house. This is too nice and big for a farm house.
I want to have a tree house but there’s no big tree in the property. Puno ng saging marami.
You can try browsing https://www.houzz.com/ – it’s like Pinterest but for homes. 🙂 You can create a virtual inspiration board to show your architect. Design*sponge is also fun but, may be too modern for you. I’d also suggest looking at old books or magazines, especially if you are attracted to a specific time period. It might give you more variety than those books.
Designers usually have a particular aesthetic. A good one will be able to take an inspiration picture and translate them into a functional space to scale. But, they still tend to design what they like – I hope you have found one that shares and understands your style.
HI Tania,
Houzz is really a good source of design inspiration. I discovered it a few months ago.
