Oyen invited my mother-in-law to join us for lunch at Xin Tian Di at Crown Plaza Hotel in celebration of Father’s Day. I asked Edmund if he wanted more people and to invite some of his friends to join us, ayaw, kami na lang daw.
Xin Tian Di wasn’t our first choice but since we preferred to dine closer to our residence then our choices were limited. Plus the fact that it was Father’s Day, halos lahat fully booked.
This would probably be the last time we would come here unless we’ve been invited to a party or a meeting here. My mother-in-law said she would be here again next week for a friend’s birthday lunch.
We opted to order from a-la-carte and not from the set menu.
No dish stood out. In my opinion, every dish was either okay or not okay. The sweet and sour fish came so late and that was not the kicker. It was sooooo bad, we returned it. The fish was no longer fresh among other things. The manager tried to appease us by offering free dessert which we turned down. We didn’t complain to make a big deal out of it but as paying customers it was also our duty to inform them how bad the food was.
Constructive comment: Xin Tian Di should re evaluate every dish in their menu. Do a new round of food tasting. Ingredients must be fresh. Yung Peking Duck makunat yung balat and hindi sya masarap. Dapat pagsubo ng customers wow, hindi aw.
Despite the unsatisfying food, we still managed to enjoy our mini Father’s Day lunch. We are also expecting our first grandchild in a few weeks and that’s a big reason to celebrate.
