After resting in our room for about three hours, we went down to the Corpo Santo Hotel lobby. Aside from the corner table filled with their regular treats, there was a mini pancake bar set up also in the lobby. And the pancakes were all complimentary for the enjoyment of their guests.
I tried one mini pancake with kiwi and chocolate sauce.
My husband was teasing me. I told him daw we would not eat anymore for lunch. Hindi ito lunch. Appetizer! Gutom na ako.
It was a hot and sunny day, not very pleasant for exploring the city on foot.
Had we come two weeks earlier the weather could have been more pleasant.
Even the air conditioning in the room is not that cold. But the good thing about this hotel is even if it’s along a busy road, it is very quiet inside the rooms.
I checked out the souvenir shop at the corner of the hotel.
There are lots of souvenir shops around. No buying yet, just browsing and checking what they have here.
I was tempted to buy the kitchen towels. Control control, it’s only the first day.
I love plates that can be used for eating. I am not fond of collecting plates for decors.
We’ve passed by this Ministerio de Justica / Supremo Tribunal de Justica buildings that morning on our way to the hotel from the airport.
Arco da Rua Augusta
Tuktuk crowd the streets. It’s more expensive to ride the tuktuk than the taxi. However it seats five people compared to 4 in taxis.
The arc led us to the tourists pedestrian street with plenty of shops and restaurants.
Casa Portuguesa do Pastel de Bacalhau
We tried one piece codfish cake. We didn’t like it.
The Portuguese egg tart is world famous. Edmund wanted to buy six to bring to the hotel for our midnight snack. I told him one muna, tikman muna namin.
Naku buti na lang. Ang tammiiiiis! I also didn’t like the gooey filling. The crust was good though.
More pastel de nata or custard tart. Ayaw ko na sobrang tamis.
Street performers are where tourists are. Be always ready with one Euro coin at least per performance.
