The secretary of Amir called at around 2 pm today asking when I could drop by to fit the gown I ordered. I looked at my watch and told her 4 pm. She said they would be there till 6:30 pm today.

I normally do not fit dresses or gowns. They finish my dress without any fitting. So far it hasn’t happened that I had to send the dress or gown back for major alteration.
A month ago, I saw an off white dress worn by one of the mannequins at Amir’s shop. I ordered one for myself and I specifically requested not to put any crystals or embellishment so I could wear it on business gatherings.
The one that they made is not quite similar to the one worn by the mannequin and different from the drawing.
The one that I tried on is a very light blue (periwinkle). It has crystals and stones and the embroidery is completely different from what I wanted.
Pero okay na lang din. It looks very dainty and virginal. It has a different kind of cuteness. However, I cannot use it for business gatherings because it’s more of a cocktail dress.
I requested Cristy the mananahi to remove the boning which protrudes against the soft fabric and to shorten the sleeves and hemline. The dress would definitely look better if I have a smaller stomach.
I didn’t expect that Amir would be there. He recently came back from Brunei and he din’t like the place daw.
The mannequins at his shop were wearing a different collection:

I tried on the formal gown I intended to wear to my nephew’s wedding in the US next month but it looked very formal and nice. I told Amir Sali that I feel like not wearing that gown anymore, nakaka-hinayang. Parang it’s too much to wear to a vineyard / garden wedding unless I am the bride. Parang pang-Oscar awards night. I will just wear a different gown. I don’t want to steal the thunder from the mother of the groom and the mother of the bride. Oh my buhay you are so conceited.
Ganyan talaga ang mga couturier, hindi sila gagawa ng kapareho pero susundin ang style na gusto mo.
That’s what we are paying for…
🙂
Maganda Ms Annie.
