Free Range Chickens - Oh My Buhay

Before hitting the road back to Manila we went back to the farm to count the number of free range chickens we now have. It’s been a year since we first bought a few native chickens and until now we only have 27 excluding the 4 roosters dressed for Antonia’s tinola.
Considering that the hens like to lay eggs we are not able to increase the number of our chickens fast enough. Our caretaker said the chicks get sick, they die or the eggs are bulok or bugok.
I want to have 100 chickens in all so I suggested to dear husband that we should buy a few hens from the market so there would be more moms giving birth to chick-chicks. Maybe with a hundred free range chickens, we can already start harvesting eggs for our daily consumption and we can already have a steady supply of organic chickens. Edmund commented that matigas daw yung laman ng manok na kinatay nila. Eh kasi free range chickens have developed muscles from running around unlike those that just live their short lives in cages.
