Last May Edmund and I bought some inexpensive garden decors from Costco. We had them shipped by ocean freight together with some other stuff. They arrived in July but it was only very recently that I brought them to the farm. My husband was hesitant to bring them because he was worried they might just get stolen.
When I was ordering the house’s roof I actually wanted the old fashioned galvanized iron without any gutter and without paint. Gusto ko yung mukhang luma na mukhang kalawang na. Ididn’t want to have gutters and downspouts. I wanted the rain to slide down the roof freely like a fountain. I was imagining it to be like when I was still a kid when I could take a shower under the rain by standing just where the water was flowing from the roof.
I gave in to Edmund’s suggestion that there should be gutters. BUT I didn’t order downspouts. Kaya the gutter has several big holes some 4″ in diameter supposedly for the downspout. My husband still couldn’t understand my idea or what I wanted, basta that was how I wanted it to be, gusto ko bumubuhos yung ulan. Gusto ko naririnig ko yung kalatog ng ulan sa bubong parang sa probinsya.
This rain catcher we found in Costco serves like a downspout. Dyan tutulay yung ulan. It’s decorative although it’s borderline baduy.
I taught the two guys the super easy way to hang the rain catchers.
