October 19, 2015 Tuesday

I was in a quandary whether to extend our stay in HK for a few days till after Lando has left or to proceed with our flight at 6 pm.
I called the PAL office in HK but it was an exercise in futility. Talagang lilipas na ang bagyo bago ako maka-connect.

My son inquired from the front desk if our room would still be available if we extend for two more nights. They said we have to move to a city view room because all harbour view rooms are fully booked.

Edmund said there were no more winds and the sun was up. He encouraged me still to extend our vacation. When I asked my son, he said okay lang sa kanya, pero okay lang din to go home na because we have nothing more to do in HK.

So it’s adieu to this mesmerizing view. It was nice waking up every morning to this relaxing vista.
Hk vacation ends, bye view

It was sunny but a little hazy.

I saw my son walking @ Canton Road, on his way back to Hui Lau Shan, for his last cup.

We didn’t have breakfast, We just had farewell drink of HLS.
Meron nga pala kaming welcome drink courtesy of the hotel which we didn’t get.

When we were about to leave the hotel, my son said there’s a HLS at the airport. I said I didn’t know. He needed an assurance that he could buy another drink when we reach the airport. Eh what if there’s non.
Omb—–“Anak, go, buy, sige na”.

He got a cup of mango puree drink with aloe jelly.

Happy, one for the road.

Kain na naman when we arrived at the airport. I am so sawa na of Hainan chicken.

PAL gate’s 27. We saw a giant Buddha head made from stacked tuna cans.

My son laughed at me because I thought they were Lego blocks.

We were seated just behind the Business Class section. I paid extra P1,500 per person to transfer to this row. It has a little extra leg room, maybe four inches. Pero it’s still masikip.

I checked yes to the question do you currently have colds / cough. I have itchy throat. Naku when my son woke up, he said why did I say yes. They will quarantine us daw.
Nyke —–“Do you want to go home na or do you want to stay here until 1 am. They will quarantine us”.

Mahirap kasing magsinungaling. My throat was itchy and it still is itchy.
Sige na nga I will change my answer. I requested for two more forms.
I checked no no no no.

Health Card, Arrival

The flight was a little rough. The flight attendants were not able to finish the dinner service. They also couldn’t collect back the food trays.

Instead of a less than two hours flight from Hongkong to Manila, it became a three hour flight. We took off at 6:25 pm. Instead of arriving at 8:20, we landed at 9:15 pm. That was an extra 55 minutes hovering above and circling around Luzon due to airport traffic congestion. It was really scary and dangerous. It was rough and turbulent. The risk goes up when there’s air traffic. Ano ba yan, traffic na sa baba, traffic pa sa himpapawid. My son and I felt so dizzy. There was one big drop, napasigaw ako ng ouch. Nahilo mga bulate ko.

Our baggage was delayed. We waited for at least 30 minutes.
Some people were already in bad mood. After that rough flight and turbulent landing, nahilo na brain cells namin. There were two families who were fighting. It started with something very petty like lumampas sa guhit daw. They were both holding their carts and waiting for their respective luggage. Nagkainitan at nagkahamunan na ng away. Ang sarap pagbabatukan. They looked silly.

Fil-Chinese mom—- “Punyeta, gusto nya kami ang magbugbugan sa labas. Linya lang yan. Kahit sya matanda. Sya naman nauna”.

Fil-Chinese mom—–“Apologize? Wala naman akong ginawang masama bakit ako mag-a-apologize. Mawala sana luggage nya”.

After several minutes, they would not stop verbally attacking the older Filipino-looking woman. Another Chinese-looking adult confronted her again.

Well, we didn’t know who provoked who. Ang hindi ko alam eh kung bakit gustong magbugbugan eh kailangan pa sa labas. Pwede naman dun, while we were waiting for our luggage. Malaki naman ang space and we have time. Delayed naman ang flight, delayed ang landing, delayed ang luggage, what’s a few minutes delay to watch their fight?

I didn’t eat on the plane. The food was chicken and I was feeling ek-ek na from eating chicken. I wanted something else. It was 11 pm and there was not much choice. We drove thru at the McDo in Forbestown. I ordered McChicken. Chicken again? Kala ko ba ayaw ko ng chicken. Nung ubos na, I told my son I made the mistake of ordering McChicken. Dapat pala Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Eh chicken din.

When we got home, I found several atis on our dining table. Pitas daw sa puno namin sa Binangonan. Ang tamis.

After kwentuhan till midnight, I unloaded my stuff from the maleta.
This is one of the anti-climax of traveling, pagligpit ng mga gamit. Nakakatamad. some people let their maids do this. Edmund and I don’t. We do this ourselves. We also didn’t train our children to let the maids pack and unpack their stuff.
