Holiday Travel to the US

December 19, 2019

Every time we leave, we run around like crazy on that day, we’re always cramming.

I didn’t even have time to change my clothes, kaya I was wearing a dress to the flight eh ang hirap kasi tumataas yung palda when I sleep.

E—-“Bakit ganyan ang suot mo hindi ka nakapantalon, bago mo malaman nasa Youtube ka na”.
He was referring to my skirt.

I bought a plastic envelope for my passport, tickets, and money.

E— “tart ano ba yan, nakikita ang pera mo”.

A—-“Naku twenty dollars lang”.

We thought we were not going to make it to our flight. We left our house at almost 7 pm instead of 6 pm. Waze was directing us to pass Magallanes to Pasay, to Domestic Airport but Edmund did not believe in Waze and was more comfortable passing thru SLEX to Resorts World. Hayun, mas lalo kaming naipit ng traffic. Our flight was at 9:55 pm. 9 PM nasa kalye pa kami. Traffic was at a standstill one kilometer before the airport. I got worried so I messaged the PAL station manager to inform him we were so near yet so far. I think he also got worried, sabi nya, “mam, asan na kayo?” He said “copy”.
We made it.

We found my brother on the same flight. I knew he would be going home before Christmas but I didn’t ask when. Although I remember I texted him that I was leaving for the US on the 19th. He is a two-million miler passenger. He boards the last or as he pleases. He doesn’t fall in line. Those are some of the perks. My friend Angel Rosales is a Cathay Pacific million miler passenger but according to her there are no perks like that.

The monitor control was broken. They replaced it within 10 minutes.

I exchanged seats with Edmund so I could be closer to Oyen. He moved to the window side which was better. Hindi sya maabala when I stand up, and good for me too, I would be away from the red wine scare in case it spills.

As soon as the plane landed, the purser, Gina, approached Kuya Lito and helped him with his things and accompanied h him to the door although it was only a few steps away. He would be the first to disembark.

We saw actor Gabby Concepcion at the Mabuhay lounge but we didn’t know he would be on the same flight as ours. When Edmund saw him boarding, he said “nadyan si Gabby”. A few had selfies with him.
I told Edmund “tabihan mo, picturan ko kayo, para magkaalaman na kung sino talaga ang mas gwapo sa inyo”.
E— “hahah”.

Gabby Concepcion is such a darling. He gamely smiles on cams and he even volunteers to be the one to hold the camera. I’ve seen other celebrities in the past, they were not like Gabby. Yung iba naka simangot pa.
Piolo Pascual and son were on the same flight as Oyen’s in August. Okay naman daw. Oyen had a photo with him.

While we were already at the airport:
Gabby—-“Yung kopya ko ha. i tag mo ako”.
Me to Oyen —–“Anak paano ba tina tag?”
Sobrang gwapo ni Gabby, mas pretty pa sya sa akin. At ang kutis, mamula-mula. Lamang lang sya ng konti sa asawa ko. Namumula rin ang pisngi ni Edmund pag naka inom.

The wait at the immigration was so long. Took almost two hours. Many passengers coming from Europe were sprawled on the floor out of sleepiness and exhaustion. Children and babies were throwing tantrums.
