I was surprised when my friends Monica and Eric mentioned to me that they have started homeschooling their three children. They bought a new house and it has an extra room for homeschooling.
The change was prompted by fear for their children’s safety, bullying in school, shielding their children from too much electronic gadgets at school and away from bad influences, and not to mention the four hours of heavy traffic each day their children endured to and from their respective schools.
Before, their kids had to wake up at 4 am to reach school by 7 am. They are exhausted by the time they reach home at 6 pm. With the homeschooling, they wake up at 7 am and they have quality time with their siblings and parents. They are able to take up extra curricular activities like music and art in the afternoon. They also don’t need drivers to ferry them to and from the school. Not to mention gas savings.
I think this is the best way nowadays. This works best for stay-at-home moms who are college graduates and have a great deal of patience to teach and guide their children. Otherwise, moms must hire a teacher who would come to their house.
