This was my second time to attend Hoseki’s jewelry collection launch. The first time was last year. I brought Julienne along thinking that we would find something cute for her but we didn’t get to buy anything.
Hoseki launched their Egyptian-inspired collection last week on the ground floor of One Rockwell in Makati.
Their pieces are nice, depende na lang sa style mo at babagayan na damit.
I was fond of bracelets before. I’ve lost a few, they just disappeared from my arm.
Bigla na lang bumabagsak and never to be found. After several times, I got so discouraged na to wear a bracelet. I was afraid to lose them again.
Nung araw, you could buy a house and lot in Greenhills for half-a-million pesos. Ngayon bracelet pa lang.
Alexis Go, wearing one of the crowns used at the Miss Chinatown beauty contest.
She wanted me to wear the crown and see if it would look good on me. Ayaw ko. I knew it would look fantastic on my head. Ako pa? Si Queen Pukekanne? Belonging to the Royal Blood of Poblacion Binangonan, United Kingdom? Of course bagay!
I asked Alexis, where would I wear it? Sa office? Mahirap na. My kingdom is in Scotland and UK, not inside the gates of Mandaluyong.
I am not good in projecting a rich image. If I wear these, people would not think that they cost half a Ford Fiesta.
This young lady is Michelle Sy, second runner-up Miss Chinatown.
The stylist took-out a pair of earrings from the display case.
A matron commented “ang nipis ng katawan”. I answered “kasi ho tila 20 years old lang sya”.
Michelle said the first runner-up couldn’t make it on the that kaya she’s wearing her crown.
I gave in to the requests of some of the older women to try on this peridot and jade choker.
“Bagay, bagay na bagay. Ipa-reserve mo na”, they told me. I’ve actually seen this in their last year’s event. Oyen liked this too and tried it on her.
It’s P430,000 less 20%.
Two people complemented my bag. I bought this last year from Macy’s in Pleasanton but first time I used it. I like its construction and compartments.
Michael Kors, US$298 minus $20 coupon + 8.55 sales tax.
I got tired from looking at the very artistic pieces. I sat down or a while and ate a little.
Eni and Mimi
Eni and husband own pawnshops.
Mimi and husband distribute cellphones. She said one time, after transacting with the cellphone retailers in Greenhills, they were cased and followed on their way home. As they turned to Whiteplains Avenue from EDSA, their van was blocked and 4 men alighted and ordered them to open the door while pointing the guns at them. The men hauled their merchandise consisting of hundreds of I-phones into their vehicle. Mimi was left in the van. When she saw the men pushing her husband and driver into the other vehicle, she slowly opened the sliding door, crawled around the van and ran to the other side of the street. She thought she would be shot. Cars didn’t want to stop and help her, but eventually someone from their village pulled over.
The bad guys left her husband and driver under the fly-over somewhere in Pasig. Buti na lang they were not hurt.
I left the event at 6 pm. Again, I didn’t get to buy anything. My taste is simpler and boring. My budget is also too thin.
