I am praying for sunshine and virus protection

We are bombarded with news about how many people have contracted the coronavirus and how many have died but no report as to how many have gone home and recovered.

The panic is sweeping the whole world.

There’s lockdown in many places including in Mania. The 8 pm curfew in Manila has thrown many in confusion. Sana mas late ng konti like 10 pm. Sobrang aga ng 8 pm, pagpila pa lang sa sakayan at traffic pa, ubos na ang oras.

All these have major negative impacts in all our lives. Great business for those alcohol, antibacterial wipes, sanitizers, tissue, manufacturers.

Here in America, we are on edge because we have a wedding happening soon. It’s too close to postpone it. Many guests have backed out citing the risks of being in contact with other people. Some say they have colds and cough. Some keep on sending me bad news about the virus. They didn’t have to do that. We already know that the virus is everywhere and every place and person is suspect. If they don’t want to attend the wedding, we cannot force them. It’s not mandatory. We do understand, no explanations needed. We don’t want our guests to feel uncomfortable and worried.

Instead of teacups and soaps to giveaway tomorrow, dapat pala I distribute alcohol, hand wipes, vitamin C tablets, and face masks instead. Plus rice, toilet paper, and Spam canned meat.

Oyen’s 9 friends from New York have arrived plus three more classmates from Canada, and Texas. Our family friends Angie and Dev arrived today from Queens, NY. The groom’s parents and two siblings are here, so we are all set for tomorrow. The Tans are here too. There are no Yees attending except for the father of the bride. That is okay.

My daughter spent months preparing and all Edmund and I want is for her to be happy on this very special day.

It was supposed to rain but the sky was clear. There was some drizzles but the weather was generally beautiful. I am praying for sunshine the whole day on Sunday.   A bride, beautiful and kind,  will walk down the aisle at 4pm all dressed in the most beautiful gown.

I knelt down in front of the altar before leaving for the hotel. I prayed for sunshine and coronavirus protection for my family, relatives, friends, employees, for all of us and the world.
