I bought plates at the Windsor Castle

Windsor Castle was so huge we didn’t know where to go first. The tour guide lead us only up to the gate, outside the castle. We were the ones who bought our tickets to be able to go inside and we just felt our way through this medieval castle.

We saw dozens of our Asian relatives lining up at the State Apartments, and the first room we entered was the so-called China Room. And much to my surprise, they were selling commemorative chinaware and limited edition plates, tea cups and saucers. I got stuck there. It was love at first sight when I spotted this blue and white dinner plate.

The matching tea cup was just as elegant.

I was mentally calculating and deciding how many pieces I would buy when my husband sensed my intention.
E—-“Bibili ka ba? Huwag na set hindi mo naman ginagamit. Bumili ka lang ng isa pang souvenir. Hayun o, maganda yun, bili ka pang-collection mo lang.
A—-“Isa lang?”
E—-“Kung gusto mo dalawa o…”
When I buy plates I always imagine that I am going to use them, not just for collection. I actually do not have a true plates collection. I don’t have a lot.

For collection only… sige na nga let’s buy that white and blue plus that one on the top of the cabinet.

Me, to the sales lady—– “How much is that one?”
Nuria—-“That’s a limited edition made for the Queen’s……. it’s three thousand six hundred pounds.”
A—–“For a complete set?”
Nuria—–“No, just for one, one piece. It comes with a signed certificate. Do you want it? It’s beautiful.”

A—-“Oh my God, please put it back”.
OMB! 250,000 pesos isang pinggan na pwedeng mabasag sa isang iglap.

Dito lang tayo sa mas mura. I ordered 4 pieces of the blue and white dinner plate, and 4 sets of matching tea cup and saucer for shipment. I paid £45 extra for shipping and I got a tax free discount. Not bad. They’ve already sent me an email saying that my items have been shipped and are on their way. Nuria told me to inspect the boxes right away and if any item is broken, to contact them immediately and they will replace them. Oh good.
