There are at least 200 job applications on my desk. I have been trying to find people with extra plus factors. Not just mediocre or pwede na but I want to increase our company’s efficiency, proficiency and IQ to the next level. It’s not that easy. To begin with, we are a medium-sized company and we cannot afford to be overly generous in our compensation packages. However, we are very fair and we do not exploit people.
Hundreds submit their bio data but when we email, call, text, they don’t respond. And their email addresses reflect their happy go-lucky attitude or shall I say the new breed of people.
A few examples:
magandasi__@yahoo.com (female)
________gandangbabae@yahoo.com (oo na, maganda ka na inday)
mahalakoni____@yahoo.com (this guy is pathetic, everytime a girl dumps you, you have to get a new email address)
boytukmol______@yahoo.com (I don’t want to hire this guy, what he is going to do in our office, tutukmul-tukmol?”
loverboy________@yahoo.com (baduy mo)
I am noticing that the average age of applicants is dropping, 18, 19, 20, 21. Lately, I seldom see 24 and up.
Rarely do I encounter graduates from leading schools. They probably gun for the big guns. San Miguel, Unilever, PLDT, Globe, Smart, etc. Well, for good reason, higher pay, better packages.
I looked twice, thrice to make sure I am reading it right, that this applicant’s name is really Arnold Palmer.
Arnold Palmer is a golf legend and regarded as one of the greatest golfers of all time. Is he out of job?
Blessed are those who have jobs.
Cathy de Jesus and Teresa Encenas
Where can you find a job that gives you free Facebook photos?
Jenny Mojica and Dia Maris Bien. If I am not mistaken these two are also just around 22. They’re so cute.
