Late for Christmas Lights - Oh My Buhay

We have one balikbayan box full of Christmas lights from last year. Only a fourth still works. The rest, for throwing away na. I don’t know why these lights are disposable. They don’t last.

It was only yesterday afternoon that I found the time and energy to buy some LEC Christmas lights. I left the office at 3 pm so I could swing by Home Depot, but I remembered there’s store inside Robinson’s Pioneer, Handyman, selling Christmas lights.

There were a few people buying lights too but one or two boxes per person. Except me, I was buying 20 boxes and 4 boxes of the big ones, called shooting stars or tube lights.
The other store clerks were teasing the him “marami kang benta ah”.

Store clerk —–“Mam, mukhang huli ka na yata? Bakit ngayon ka pa lang maglalagay ng Christmas lights?”
A——————–“Busy”
Store clerk to his colleagues ——“Busy daw si mam”.

A—————“Dagdagan mo pa ng sampung boxes, paki test”.
Store Clerk—–“Saan mo mam ilalagay? Sa bahay nyo?”

Store Clerk—–“Malawak ba ang garden nyo?”
A—————“Hinde”.
Store Clerk—–“Marami ba kayong puno?”
A—————“Konti lang”.
Store Clerk—–“Konti lang daw puno ni mam”.

I felt like I was applying for a bank loan, being interviewed by the loan officer.
