I’ve hosted a lumpia party once before, at least 5 years ago, hindi na naulit, been really busy.
Oyen’s future parents in law hosted a lumpia party at their residence last Feb 15. They love hosting parties and their lanai is big enough to accommodate friends and family.
Me, Yen, Edmund, and Derrick attended the anticipated mass together. Edmund didn’t join us to the dinner because he was playing golf the next day and the tee-off was very early.
That was the Sunday he hit a hole in one.
The lumpia was cooked by Dr. Tan Bon Liong, a close friend of Derrick’s family. The doctor loves to cook. I heard that he started preparing the delicious vegetable lumpia as early as 8 am on that day.
I met him at the dinner and he told me how delicious his version of bulalo is, wala daw taba. He also makes super yummy pochero according to him.
There were two tables, one for the males and one table for the females.
Aside from the lumpia, they also have lugaw with different choices of toppings. Jun Ortiz daw complained “ha? lumpia lang ang kakainin?” kaya the host added a lugaw bar.
Lumpia and lugaw are two of my favorite foods.
