LV, Chanel & Pizza in Baguio

December 4, 2015

Husband was in the mood for pizza or maybe something light.
We walked across the street to the quaint arcade down the road. Originally built by the Americans, the one story structure still boasts of a long boardwalk made of hardwood planks. Even the flooring of all the stores and some restaurants still have the original floors. I hope they don’t discretely remove the planks one by one only to be replaced by cheap tiles from our friendly neighbor.

The concessionaires are mostly selling clothing, bags, shoes, perfumes, sports wear and liquor. There are a few smaller stores selling local souvenir items and goodies. About 80% is occupied by the same outlet group.

I thought I found something that I would want to buy, a white bag. Edmund and I were walking by when my eyes caught a gorgeous-looking Chanel bag.
Omb——-“Tart, papasok ako”.
I got disappointed when I looked closer. Mukhang maganda sa malayo, kunwari lang pala.

O eto, those who like Celine and Givenchy.

The few restaurants at that cluster didn’t appeal to Edmund but tamad na kami to take the car and drive around looking for another resto. Gabi na rin and we’re actually sleepy. Baka lang magutom kami in the middle of the night kaya we wanted to eat a light meal.

When I saw photos of pizza outside the Mile Hi Diner, I convinced him to just eat here. “O tart, di ba you said you wanted pizza? Eto oh”.
He was hesitant kasi baka hindi masarap.
E——“Ano’ng klaseng pizza naman yan?”
Omb—-“Itanong natin”.
E——“Yan ka na naman. Mahilig kang magtanong, tatanungin mo na naman yung waiter, syempre sasabihin masarap”.

Omb—–“Waiter, bukas pa ba kayo? Ano’ng pizza ang pinaka masarap at special?”

Waiter—“Supreme mam”.

We ordered a big one and nothing else.   While waiting for the pizza,  we liked enjoyed listening to the background music. At first, they were playing Christmas carols, then songs that were very popular when we were in high school and college.

Kapanahunan namin yung mga tugtog kaya feel na feel.

Omb——“I like their sounds”.
E——–“Sabi siguro eto, bagay dun sa dalawang matanda”.

I must admit that we were anxious about how bad the pizza would taste. Baka pizza-pizza-han lang. We were very impressed when it arrived. It looked good and tasted good too.
Omb——-“Oh it’s good”.
E———“Not bad, not bad at all”.
Omb——-“My children will like this. Pasado na sa kanila ito”.

Even after we’ve paid for our meal, I was hesitant to leave. I wanted to stay a bit longer to listen to the music. Mile Hi Diner is a nice place to hang-out at night, when there are no other people.
