Make the Homily attuned to the times

I think a good majority of church parishioners do not listen to the Homily.
Not that they are not interested, but the priests simply don’t capture the audiences’ mind, heart and soul. They are not attuned to the times.

We do want to listen, but the message don’t come across. Paliguy-ligoy, it’s not straight to the point. The message must adapt to the present times.

Sunday Homily July 2015

Have a sermon that would make people renew their faith and worship. A ten to fifteen minute sermon is enough to be able to impart values according to the chosen Sunday’s gospel or topic. Expound if you must, but the message must be able to get through especially to the young adults generation. Keep it straight, simple, and attune to the times.

It’s such a waste of time and opportunity. Spending half hour, sometimes almost 40 minutes sitting and imagining things, other than listening to the priest.

The church has a captive audience. They must be able to make the parishioners feel better with renewed hope and drive to go through the next days of their lives believing there is one God guiding us.
