I skipped the morning tour to the Parliament. I was tired of walking the day before and I just wanted to rest this morning. I also didn’t eat breakfast. I just stayed in the room till noon.
I took a cab from Sofitel to catch up with the group. They’re going to have lunch at the Market Hall. The taxi driver was fluent in English. He said he went to a night school when he was 18 and continued to learn the language till he was fluent. I asked why Hungarians speak very good English. He answered “because tourists don’t speak Hungarian”. He said his kids’ English teacher has a very bad pronunciation. She speaks English with a Russian accent.
I was at the Market Hall in about 10 minutes. He told me to cross the street, it’s behind the Burger King.
After I crossed the street, and turned and saw the Market Hall building on the other side, where I got off the cab. Duon pala, hindi dito.
Oyen was standing at the entrance waiting for me.
I didn’t except this place to be this nice. I was expecting something that resembled a bazaar place.
Our tour friends were on the second floor, eating. I followed Oyen.
One side of the second floor has cooked food stalls selling all Hungarian– goulash, sausages, langos, etc.
There was a small section where they set up benches and a long table with all kinds of sausages. That’s where we had lunch. There were too much food, we didn’t consume even half of what was served. It was also hard to eat kasi hindi comfortable. The cheese, salami and prosciutto were good though.
