We had a good plan for this day, have lunch, go to World Trade Center and shop in the nearby Century 21. But we woke up real late, so we only had time for a quick tour of Ground Zero.

It’s not a good idea to approach those sleeping in the subway or on the streets. Some of them are suffering from mental illness. Gaya nung isang Filipino dito na homeless, inaresto nung mga police, dadalhin daw sa hospital for psychiatric and physical evaluation.
102

I have to catch my breath when I go up and down the steep subway stairs.
103

50th St. is a few steps away from our apartment.
105

I caught that black guy taking our picture. He aimed his Iphone, hindi ako magkakamali, he took our photos. I caught him looking at us.
107

We’re going to the World Trade Center, the last E train stop.

114

This old church is very near the WTC pero it did not suffer major damage in 9/11,
115

When you visit the 9/11 site, go inside this small church. We’ve been there 6 years ago.
117

Thousands of tourists didn’t mind the heatwave.
118

NYPD surrounded the whole block.
119

120

121

Tourists ate pizza on the sidewalk.
122

From the subway exit, we walked some 4 blocks.
123

There it is….
124

125

126

Entrance is free but they ask for a donation of $5-$10 per person. Those giving $10 and up get a rubber bracelet

132

This W building is right across WTC. It looks new, it was probably destroyed too during the 9/11 attack.
134

It took us 30 minutes to enter and another 10 minutes for security check. Parang airport. Tadtad ng camera yung paligid.
138

That’s the look of someone who hasn’t recovered from jetlag, lack of sleep, tired of walking, feeling hot and perspiring, a slight headache, agitated due to time constraints, and with a grumbling stomach.
139

These are the names of 9/11 victims. For some reason, I had goosebumps from head to toe when I ran my fingers thru some of their engraved names. I said a little prayer. I think their spirits remained in the area.
143

147

There were plenty of group tours, Boys Scouts, school children, etc.
151

We were in a hurry kasi Oyen’s seeing her friends in Brooklyn at 6:30 pm.
152

We only stayed for about 10 minutes. We were in a hurry to go back to the apartment because Oyen would change her clothes.
153

Before taking the train back to 50th St, we ate a slice of pepperoni each on the sidewalk.
