I didn’t get the memo that the required attire at our Christmas party was modern Filipiniana. I only found out the day before. I didn’t want to buy a new outfit, so I made halukay my closets. I found several old Filipiniana dresses, three was made by Dita Sandico-Ong, one by Ching Santos, one by Pitoy Moreno but all were size small. They don’t fit me anymore. I am now a size Large.
I wore a simple black dress I bought last November 1 from a boutique in Bangkok selling exclusively made in Nepal dresses.
Edmund giving his traditional welcome speech.
The women went over and above the suggested attire. They hired professional hair and make-up artists. Most rented their gowns, some borrowed. Meron pa silang stylists.
Jen of Ford EDSA
The only person not wearing lashes extension was me. And Edmund too.
And look at these ladies. Pang beauty contests.
She looks like Miss Philippines. Ang sexy nya, kung ako ang magsusuot nitong hapit na hapit na gown na ito, magmumukha akong piniritong hito.
We let the officers choose the menu.
I only requested for lechon. This year we had three to be sure hindi ako maubusan.
Kennedy is a sales executive at Makati Ford. He was a contestant in The Voice. Vicky was a recipient of 20 years service recognition award.
And so was Ruth,
and Bernard.
Camille, Liv, Vicky. Liv is new to the company. Vicky, 20 years, Camille? Hindi ko pa yata ipinapanganak si Nyke dito na sya sa amin.
Every year I don’t stand-up to give out the awards. But when I saw Edcil Omapoy, I stood-up to congratulate him. Edcil (he pronounces his name as Edcel because he couldn’t pronounce it as Edcil) started with Edmund as a laborer during the construction of Celestra Building near Podium. When the building was finished, he continued working with us as a cleaner. There was still a lot of construction debris and Edcil was assigned to clear the area of dirt and dust. When we opened Volvo Ortigas, I hired him as a janitor. Then he also became our messenger. We closed Volvo Ortigas and opened Mazda Makati in Pasong Tamo. Edcil continued working for us as janitor / messenger. After we decided to close Mazda Makati, we transferred him to Ford EDSA.
Kay Ann has been with us for 10 years, baby pa sya nuon, ngayon mukhang baby pa rin.
Service and Parts guys from Makati Ford
O di ba ang ganda nila? Pang Miss Universe.
The semi-finalists
I was asked to pick the Best Dressed, one Male and one Female
She was a complete package from head to toe. She looked very elegant and carried herself well. Parang dalagang Pilipina. Talagang feel na feel nya.
I chose her as the Best Dressed Female of the night.
I didn’t choose runners up because so many of them looked gorgeous.
Joyce Eleda of Ford Cainta was another stand-out in her yellow gold ensemble.
Jen Canales of Ford EDSA looked like a winner. She was one of my favorites.
The party would never be complete without the yearly dance presentation contest.
To be continued.
Nakakatuwa po si Mr. Edcil. Kakaunti na lang ang mga empleyado na katulad niya na nagsisilbi ng buong puso at sipag sa matagal na panahon. (Dahil Filipiniana ang theme,) Mabuhay siya!
Hi Ken,
Merry Christmas. Mabati talaga at masipag si Edcel.
