My Challenges of Being a Woman

Sometimes I find it frustrating being a woman. Being me has some challenges. Some men I deal with always have that preconceived notion that I know less. Just because I talk less doesn’t mean I know less. Just because I look frail doesn’t mean I am not capable of doing anything. Just because I talk slow doesn’t mean I think slow.
Just because my tears fall doesn’t mean I am weak.

Most men also do not know the meaning of a simple friendship. They think when I am friendly to them, I maybe open to a romantic or sexual relationship. Just because I go places doesn’t mean I am separated and available. My hi doesn’t mean hello there. When I smile and wave it doesn’t mean I like you in a different way.

I am extremely comfortable being surrounded by the opposite gender. This is still is a man’s world. The things that I do and the activities that I choose to delve in are still controlled by men. There are lots of perks too of being a woman. There are things that I also get away with by just being me. But on the other hand, it sometimes is tough and challenging.
