We spent a total of eleven hours whiling away our time, waiting for the 4th of July fireworks display.
We walked from pier to pier, end to end.
Today, my companions, all American citizens, 3 born here two have lived here for dozens of years, are enjoying their one day off from work.
This part of the city is always fun to visit and today is the perfect day to be here.
I did not mind the long walk because there were just too many interesting sights to see. I’m grateful to the $1 flip flops Bong bought for me, it was comfortable and withstood the miles long stroll.
We had lunch here. My camera’s battery went pfff because I totally forgot to charge it. I borrowed Dimple’s Samsung Galaxy but I wasn’t able to retrieve from her camera the hundreds of photos I took.
Many chose to bike to cover more grounds
Live bands in different spots were sponsored by the city.
Someone called “Aileen!” She turned out to be Aileen’s dentist when she was still living in the Philippines, Precy Calingo.
She’s also Aileen and Bong’s wedding ninang. Wow, the world has shrunk.
Dr. Precy Calingo’s husband Norman, owns an ice cream parlor a few steps away from the corner, where we were standing and deciding which way to go.
I remember Norman used to have a barbeque stand long time ago, but now they just have the ice cream parlor.
I forgot to ask what happened to their barbeque stand.
Precy’s husband arrived
Viola, ola ola Aileen
