Old Fisherman’s Wharf in Monterey

June 13, 2019

My husband got tired of walking trying to follow Tiger so he could take my photos with Tiger on the background. He was not able to watch the other golfers because of me.
We left Pebble Beach at 3 pm but the walk to the shuttle pick up took a good 15 minutes, waiting for the shuttle bus ate up another 30 minutes. The bus ride took another half-hour back to Carmel where he parked our vehicle.

We left Carmel and drove to the nearby Monterey to look for a place to eat dinner.
We’ve been in Monterey a long time ago but we can’t claim we know the place too well.
The good thing is, this charming coastal town is compact. Just two turn-around and we found a perfect place to enjoy the scenery and seafood.

We parked in front of these boats. $1 parking fee per hour.
E—“One dollar? Ang mahal ha.”

Limang hakbang pa lang, nasalubong agad namin maraming mga Pilipino.
Old Fisherman’s Wharf is a small pier that caters to tourists like us.

I feel like as I get older, I am shrinking and getting shorter. When I stand beside Edmund, I feel like he’s growing taller.

The train on the awning of Candy World gives me an idea. I’d like to put something on the roof of our cottage house, Ano kaya’ng maganda? I will think. Manok?

They have a guy outside with a big pot of clam chowder offering free taste. At least four other restaurants in the area also offer free clam chowder tasting. I like the one from Scales. Not great, but a little bit better in my opinion.

We are hearing a sound coming from the pier, parang merong umiiyak na seal. Ano kaya yun, kinakatay?

I’ve been day dreaming of having a house fronting the water since last year. Our cottage house has a pond right in front of our bedroom. It’s the size of a king bed and only for ducky-ducks.

Must be great waking up every morning seeing this view from your window. The water is blue, the sky is white and blue, two of my favorite colors.

A few days ago, during one of my dreaming moments, I told my husband I want to have a boat. He said ako pa daw na hindi marunong lumangoy at mahiluhin, gustong magka boat? Boats remind me of my father. He had several boats in the 60s. Edmund tells me there’s a store selling boats near Panda Express. We drove by but we didn’t stop. I spotted several small boats.
Ah ah I wasn’t born to clean his kitchen. I want to have my own boat. My God, I am dreaming. Can you imagine daydreaming of being in someone else’s kitchen and cleaning? Susmaryosep.

I will go to the boat store to make usyoso next week. Libre tingin. It’s free to dream. Who knows. I think it’s expensive to maintain a boat. I need a boat dock, a slip, an ocean, a lake, a bay, a waterfront house. It’s so nice to imagine and to dream. These are big dreams and first I need to win a lottery.
