My goodness, to say that we’ve been together for 44 years sounds like we are uugud-ugud na. Malapit na nga. We are nearing that phase.
The first 6 Valentines were during our college days and a bit more.
In the past 15 years, we no longer celebrate this lover’s day by ourselves. It’s either with Oyen, Nyke, or with both depending on whether who’s in the same country.
Today, we are with Nyke because Oyen is celebrating hers in Manila with her husband.
Nyke gave me a bunch of pink na pink na tulips. Ang sweet ng anak ko. When he was still living in Manila he always gave me tulips. Thank you anak.
He was also the one who gave me that book HUMANS last Christmas. I haven’t read the whole thing yet. I’ve read about 20 pages so far.
The pink color has become a political statement of support for the candidacy of Leni Robredo, kakampinks. Valentine’s Day naman reminds millions of actress and Instagram super celebrity Heart Evangelista, and actress Kris Aquino.
It’s not very inspiring to see my face haggard and wrinkly. Reality is setting in. I AM OLD. Sigh!
A hotpot dinner on Valentines Day was far from being romantic.
Romantic or not, grateful for this day. Happy and relaxed.
