Manila to Abu Dhabi

We all felt rushed today.  We thought we’re leaving tomorrow afternoon, yun pala tonight na.

We all worked to day.  I even went to Office Warehouse to get some office furniture.  Rush rush rush so no time to canvass from other suppliers and wait.  We’re setting up the Makati Ford accounting office so everything was really rush.

When we reached home,  our adrenalins were still high.  We finished packing at 8:30 pm.   Edmund, as usual,  brings the most number of clothes.  Mine fit in one tiny compartment.  It also helps that it’s summer so no necessary bringing of bulky jackets.

We arrived in NAIA I before 10 pm.  Nagulat ako kasi one of our accountants in Ford,  greeted me,  she’s already there at the airport, wearing the same nice dress she was wearing today at the office.  Yun pala,  her husband, Paul is leaving also in the same Etihad flight to Abu Dhabi,  connecting to Dammam, Saudi Arabia,  his final destination.

We were quite early but my husband was agitated because we wanted better seats. The flight was fully booked kaya he’s worried we couldn’t choose seats anymore. Group tours kasi are usually placed at the farthest end of the plane kasi madami. Luckily, we were able to change our seats 3 rows from the front.

Before boarding at Gate 12, I went to the Ladies room first. When I turned, I was surprised to see two men entered the toilet, without even saying excuse me ‘mam. They’re doing some work, hindi man lang nagpa santabi. What if there were foreign passengers? Mag-excuse me naman kayo.
And wait till the toilet is empty of passengers. Mga bastos!

The flight was long,  a whole 8 hours,  but it was smooth.   The flight crew were attentive.  the food was okay.

We’re in the siksikan and super-sikip economy section.

I watched two movies,  first was Les Miserables starring Russel Crow, Hugh Jackman, and Anne Hathaway.    Hindi ko nasimulan, kasi walang sound nung una.  Then I watched Guilty Trip starring Barbara Streisand.   I was able to watch it from the beginning pero hindi ko naman natapos kasi we’re landing already in Abu Dhabi.

Not the best time to pose for photos, looking tired and sleepy.

We spent four hours here at the Abu Dhabi airport window shopping and pigging out.
The Hermes store is the first one that greets you after clearing through the immigration.

They don’t have Kelly and Birkin. The orange one sells for about P380,000

The Duty Free shop here is not so big but they have a very good selection.
The prices are not cheap, but a lot less if you buy in Manila.

  1. Ms. Annie,
I’m happy to hear that you are in Turkey. Ms. Annie don’t forget to buy Blue eye, I forgot how they called them but it is for evil eye, I just got mine 3 weeks ago and another one 1 week ago. I should be in turkey as well but since I went home (Philippines) di na po ako pwede mag leave ulit.
Sayang nga po I didn’t had the chance na meet kayo kasi busy din po ako sobrang init pa sa manila kaya di na po ako lumabas masyado. I went to Makati med lang po for follow up check up sa OB. Then I read your entry na umuwi din po pala ung sister nyo.
Any how hopefully next time I can visit you.
Enjyo your stay in Turkey, enjoy your shawarma food trip.

    take care and God bless
