Glecy and Antonio have been married for 16 years. They have 3 children, ages 9, 11, 14.
They left their small house in Cebu as soon as they were able to get tourist visas to the US.
Glecy was a teacher, while Tony’s a military officer.
Tony has a close friend who used to be under his Batallion who’s now living in the US, single, and is an American citizen.
Because of their close relationship, and the guy’s loyalty to his former superior in the military, Tony was able to convince his close friend to marry his wife Glecy, so that her stay in the US could be legalized. They didn’t want to say how much they paid her husband.
Glecy and Tony divorced. After several months, she married the other guy, lived in the same house but in different rooms. Tony spent for all the monthly payments and utilities.
The guy adopted Tony’s three minor children. They too, became immigrants.
Glecy’s house was first visited by an immigration officer at two o’clock in the morning. They panicked because he checked their cabinets if their clothes were in the same location. He also went to the master’s bedroom to see if they indeed slept together, and used the same bathroom.
Second time he came was at nine in the evening. The last time he came was at 6 am.
Glecy’s naturalization was eventually approved. She still lives in the same house with her 3 children and the guy who married her.
Tony still holds a valid indefinite visitor’s visa, so he’s able to visit his family frequently.
He’s awaiting for his eldest child to turn 21 so he could petition him.
