Philippine Airlines’ flight PR105 was purposely delayed because the NAIA airport would still be closed at 3 am had the plane left on time.
We left Hayward at 9 pm. It’s only a short 20-30 minute drive especially if Bong is the one driving.
We didn’t let Bong park anymore so they could go home and rest. They have early work the next day.
Seeing us off was PAL executive Joseph Callao. Joseph is one of PAL’s assets in San Francisco. He is very accommodating and many frequent travelers have maintained their PAL loyalty because of him. Another good guy at their SanFo office is Edwin Perez. He’s equally friendly and is such a nice fellow.
We didn’t stay at the PAL Mabuhay lounge because we preferred to walk around while waiting for boarding. We would be seated a dozen hours anyway during the flight.

On the same flight was multi-awarded actor Christopher de Leon. He bought a Coach bag at the duty free shop for his wife Sandy.
Stalking him was not intentional. I just tried if my new camera’s zoom works. Yes it did.
We met another friend of Joseph Callao, Grace Miane, who couldn’t wait to get home to her native Iloilo. She works at the Residence Inn, Marriot in SFO but would be moving to LA in September at the Residence Inn, Dana Point.
Grace said that the best place to play golf and shop is in Scottsdale, Arizona. She said there are many upscale restaurants and shops. It’s her favorite vacation place daw.
I turned down the flight attendant’s offer of mango smoothie due to my very bad tummy ache last July 14, 2012 on my flight back from SFO to Manila. But I changed my mind and took it. Gladly, my tummy didn’t react.
PAL’s gourmet selection could make one put on weight during the 12 hour flight.

Right after the dinner service, I fell asleep and woke up at almost 8 am according to my watch. Edmund was envious. He said he only slept for a few hours. Well, he was able to watch several movies. I didn’t. Even a single one.
I just slept thru. I just opened my eyes because my husband tapped my shoulder first to tell me that breakfast was being served and the next one came when we were about to land. All in all, it was a great flight. I didn’t get scared because the ride was smooth. There was only a minute or two when it was a little shaky but very mild.
To top it all, the service of the staff assigned on the upper deck was impeccable. I felt pampered. They were very attentive and courteous.
It felt like I was in a five star hotel.
