The night he was leaving for San Francisco, my son came home carrying a small paper bag that says Pandora. I curiously asked him “what’s that?”
He said ——- “Okay, fine, this is for you”.
Me————- For me?
Nyke———– For your birthday.
Me————- “anak, malayo pa ang birthday ko, one month from now pa”.
Nyke———– “eh I don’t have time to buy……”
Me———— thank you.

I opened it hoping it’s not something expensive. Bago pa lang sya nagtatrabaho, ayaw ko syang mawalan ng pera.

it’s a silver plated bracelet.

Nyke——— “You have to add a trinket for every occasion.”
Me———– “Anak it’s nice, it looks expensive. Baka wala ka ng pera.”
Nyke——— “mom, just don’t check out the price.”

The tiny trinket says LOVING MOTHER.

Thank you anak. That’s so sweet of you.

  1. So sweet. <3 It's rare for sons to be so sweet to their moms, you are indeed blessed, Annie. 🙂 I'd like to share something if you don't mind. I used to be the same way when my kids would give me pressies. I'd lament on the cost, how sayang it is & they should just have kept their miney & use for their own needs, etc. But then I'd think back to when I was a child & I would use my allowance to buy my mom a gift & instead of being delighted, she would give me a long sermon & take my joy of gift-giving away. So I changed my mindset. Now, everytime they give me a gift, no matter the cost, I make a big production & squeal with delight. <3 It seems to make them happy that I'm happy so win-win. Besides, we are mothers. We deserves some pampering now & then haha. 😉 You are a great mom who raised such adorable children. I salute you Annie. :-*
