I am thinking what if I eat pangat na dalag every lunch time for 7 straight days. Masawa kaya ako? Maybe or maybe not. There’s only one way to find out.

Husband and I drove to Taytay on March 26 Sunday and had lunch at Bahay Kawayan. There was a birthday celebration in the main dining area and it was decorated in pink and violet.

The walk-in customers were confined to the smaller room on the left side. It was sooooo noisy. I didn’t want to talk lest I would just add to the rambunctious diners. When it’s noisy, a person’s tendency is to talk even louder and that aggravates the situation.

Despite the irritating noise, we managed to enjoy our meal of pangat na dalag, crispy fried hito and guinataang hipon. We didn’t anymore order halo-halo for dessert because we wantd to get out of the noisy place fast. Our payment was delayed because when Edmund was about to pay, for some reason I took a peak at the bill. I noticed there was a P120 charge for leche flan. We didn’t order this so I sent the bill back to the cashier. She just deducted the 120 from the total. It should be recomputed because the 120 was included in her computation of tax. When the bill came back, I noticed another mistake. I just stood up and brought the bill to the cashier and I explained to her why the bill needed to be recomputed. I wrote down the correct detailed computation at the back of the original bill and she just copied it. From P1200+ our bill went down to P900+.

I went to the women’s washroom to wash my hands. I got so confused when I saw what looked like a man coming out of one of the cubicles. I thought I made the mistake of entering the men’s toilet. When I looked again at the man, he used to be a she pala that turned into a he. This is what I’ve been suggesting. There should now be four different toilets, for men, women, exwomen, exmen, to avoid confusion and embarrassment. Even in our facilities, we don’t have 4 categories. This needs a considerable amount of extra space.

  1. Ms. Annie, the restaurant’s name is Bahay Kawayan. Pawid is the restaurant at the back of Bahay Kawayan 🙂
