July 13 Sunday
We reached the Sierra Madre restaurant/ resort in Tanay at past 10 am. We got lazy to get off the van to make a stop. This was the place recommended by Edmund’s friend, Pong.
About a kilometer or two away, I saw this smaller structure on the right side of the road. This was where I decided to stop. Edmund was not sure if it’s a cafe or what they have.
We were surprised. They have an art gallery on the ground floor, and the second floor dining area is quaint and homey. My kind of place. They even have live music.
We were happy this’s where we stopped. We had turon, hot chocolate, etc.
There’s an art gallery on the ground floor
I am happy that budding artists from Rizal towns have a venue to display and sell their works.
Edmund said if we’re to inventory the paintings that I have at home, most of them are mother and child. He said he’ll paint a mother and child and would sell it to me.
The second floor is like an old Spanish house with large open windows.
Paseo Rizal first opened in Morong, Rizal where the owners, Bing F. Ramos and family, are from.
They opened this one in Tanay two years ago. Rooms for overnight accommodations are currently under construction.
I want to go back to Paseo Rizal except that it’s too far from Manila. If we take the same route via Cogeo, Antipolo, Morong, it’s about 2 hours away. Tanay is closer to Binangonan but that means I have to go to Binangonan first. That would mean the same distance.
