December 5, 2015 Saturday
I’ve been to Baguio several times but this was my first time to visit the Pink Sisters Convent and Chapel.
Since it was my first time here, I wasn’t sure if this was the entrance. I followed a tourist who went inside this door.
It was very quiet inside (of course, dapat lang). There’s a wrought iron gate that divides the chapel. Siguro para hindi maistorbo yung mga madre while they are praying for our salvation.
There’s a nun praying at the altar. After a while another nun walked in and they switched. I witnessed the changing of the guards. Siguro ang duty nila tig-one hour lang. Mahirap nakaluhod ng isang oras. Hindi pwedeng magkamot, mag stretch.
There was a time in my young life that I wanted to become a nun. Now I know why I didn’t become one. It’s not meant to be. Pala-kamot ako, ubuhin, mainipin. Galaw-gaw, hindi pwede.
She wears pink. Kaya pala pink sisters ang tawag. (Annie, obvious ba?)
I wrote down the name of my parents, my Kuya Ben, his son Ben Jr. who died at only 2 years old of hydrocephalus. I also included the name of Edmund’s father, Willy, who passed away at a young age of 52. Na-stroke sya.
On another piece of paper, I wrote down naman my name plus 3.
For thanksgiving prayer.
The instruction on the box says that the mass offerings are not to be dropped there. I went out of the chapel to look for another door.
I went to this building, the nun’s convent.
Someone brought some goodies for the nuns. The driver said “padala ho ni doctora….”
There’s a young nun behind this tiny window. I spoke to her. I actually felt awkward speaking to her. Feeling ko I was speaking to an angel. Kasi nga lagi silang nagdadasal. Pero kung nagtagal pa ako ng few minutes, tatanungin ko na sya kung sino iboboto nya.
I gave her the pieces of paper with our names and the names of our dead relatives (mass offerings).
Do you want to be a Pink Sister? Kailangan hindi ka malikot kasi maghapon ka magre-pray na naka-luhod. Walang kamut-kamot. Yung mga may lahing mime, pwedeng-pwede.
In fairness Ms. Annie.. Caught off guard ako dun sa pag nagtagal ka pa speaking with the nun sa tiny window e baka tanungin mo na sya kung sinong iboboto nya. Natawa talaga ako ng malakas. Hehe..
Good Morning po! 🙂
