March 24, Friday
Edmund invited some friends over for a pre-departure dinner at home. They are joining the Golf Week tournament in St. Andrews and the dinner is like a kick off party.
He told me 10 confirmed plus us, so 13. I invited Det, the wife of Elmer, who’s also going to St. Andrews, so that would be 14 px. I set up a long table good for 14 people. I also placed 4 extra settings in our family dining area just in case more people come.
I bought several dozens of white Malaysian mums from Farmers Market.
One doesn’t need to attend a flower arrangement seminar to come up with center pieces. I just cut the stems any length and stuck them into the slots.
I bought 4 pieces of those jars from Rustan’s but they were not enough to cove the whole long table so I sent my aide back to Rustan’s to buy two more jars and 6 white candles. The small light real colored bowl beside the clear jar is actually a tea cup from Japan. I am going to use it as candle holder. I have 6 of them.
I filled them up with water.
The table is supper narrow, there’s actually no space in the middle for a table decor. Up to the last minute, I didn’t know what to place on the table that is appropriate for men.
I guess my style will always be girly.
to be continued.
I think your table setup is spoiled by using monoblock chairs.
Hi Reviewer,
True, the monoblock chairs are a bummer. But they are the most economical and easier to store. As a compromise, I placed seat cushions. They are stacked at the garage when not in use. If I buy nicer ones, I will need a bigger storage space which we don’t have. Thanks for your observation.
