Press the elevator buttons

From Shangri-la Hotel I went to my friend’s office to return something that he lent me the day before. His office is on the top floor of a building in BGC.
Elevator buttons

We are now surrounded by high rise buildings. In the 80s, many people were not yet used to riding in elevators kaya it was common to hear someone say nakakahilo. Ngayon, lahat tayo are used to elevators na.

These are two things to remember when riding in an elevator:

Number 1 (and this is very important) is to look at the elevator floor as soon as the door opens. Tingnan muna kung merong sahig. Baka bumukas ang pinto eh naiwan yung sahig. Eh mapabilis ang baba mo, bumulusok ka sa ibaba at lumampas ka pa sa ground floor, lumagapak ka sa basement 5.

Number 2  Select your floor. Press the floor indicator or buttons where you want to go. Saan ka ba pupunta?

On my way down from the 36th-floor office, there were two men and a woman in the elevator when the door opened. They looked le tou and seemed surprised when I pressed the #2. They glanced at each other when the elevator started its descent.

They forgot to press the floor indicator or buttons that’s why instead of going down to the ground floor, the elevator climbed up to the 36th floor.
