Our internet connection at home is so slow. In the office naman, we were off line for one whole week before Glenda, thanks to PLDT’s very slow response to our request for service. We’ve called dozen of times, every day and have asked for the help of people who work there pero ganun, they came after 7 days.
Out of frustration, I went to Globe and Sun in Robinson’s Galleria to check out mobile wireless broadband gadgets. I got overwhelmed with the amount of time I needed to waste waiting for my number to be called.
I thought maybe there would be less customers at the Sun’s Robinson’s Pioneer. I was wrong. I was #96. I asked two women who were numbers 85 & 86 respectively. They’ve waiting daw for half hour. I took it as an opportunity to relax and have lunch.
I walkekd around the mall towards the Chinese resto there. Parang gusto ko congee but then I passed by Max fried chicken and naakit ako. Detour.
I ordered half spring chicken. I only like the legs and wings of spring chicken and with ketchup. They no longer have Papa ketchup or Mafran. The have their own label na. The waiter asked me 3x if I wanted to order rice. Sabi ng NO.
When he asked me what drink I would order, I said pahingi lang ako ng tubig na may yelo. He said “tubig lang?” Para bang there’s a certain look on his face when he said that. Maybe I was just sensitive but the way he glanced at me was parang naaawa sya sa akin dahil nagtitipid siguro ako kaya no rice and no drink.
I was enjoying my quiet lunch when a cellphone started ringing, Ang lakas.
I tried to ignore it but it was so loud and extremely annoying. Siguro mga 7 rings. I looked around and saw this red guy holding his ringing cellphone but he was so slow in putting it off. Parang slow motion dya. Totally oblivious to the fact na nakaka abala sya at nakaka inis yung ring ng phone nya.
After about 5 minutes, his phone started ringing again. Aba ni hindi pala nilagay sa silent mode. Ganun din, ang tagal tagal, ring ng ring, ang lakas lakas lahat ng kumakain naka tingin na. He very slowly took his phone out from his pocket. Tapos hawak-hawak lang while the phone keeps on ringing. I wanted to stand up, grab his phone and answer it for him.
Medyo bwisit na ako.
After a few minutes, anak ng kwasong, his phone rang again. Ganun, ang tagal-tagal. I snapped and turned to him and in a loud voice “EXCUSE ME, EXCUSE, IS THAT YOUR PHONE?” aWA NG dYOS, 16 other diners all looked at me in disbelief. Why were they looking at me? they should have looked at the guy instead. The red guy didn’t even hear me. Aba ganun, hawak lang yung phone nya.
Kumulo talaga dugo ko. I asked the waiter, kanino bang phone yun. The waiters naman were afraid to call the guy’s attention. Susmaryosep, I took a deep breathe I really wanted to stand up and approach him. I was this close, this close, isang tuldok na lang at mag huhuramentado na ako sa inis.
Bingi siguro yun. Nag worry lang ako kasi baka mainis sa akin eh hampasin ako ng bote ng ketchup. Mamantsahan ang baro ko. Mahirap labhan.
Pwede ba, kindly put your gadget or cellphone’s ringer on silent mode when in a restaurant. It would also help to go to the spa and have an ear candling.
I went back to Sun, abah #87 pa lang. Bad mood na ako. I didn’t want to wait so I left na lang.
I saw Santa Claus sitting outside watching people go by. Day off nya.
