Just a short 15 minute Uber ride and we’re at the Quincy Market near Faneuil Hall Marketplace in Downtown, Boston. This shopping complex has hundreds of shops and kiosks selling home decors, clothes, shoes, jewelry, fresh produce, and souvenirs.
Constructed in 1824–26 and named in honor of Mayor Josiah Quincy, who organized its construction without any tax or debt. The market is a designated National Historic Landmark and Boston Landmark, significant as one of the largest market complexes built in the United States in the first half of the 19th century. I wanted to sample their oysters but there was no comfortable place to sit. Naiingayan ako.
There’s a dining area at the center of the building but it’s full of people. Ang ingay.
Ang cu-cute sana nung Russian dolls pero sobrang mahal, tila $50 for one tiny piece.
Dick’s is just outside the Quincy Market food court. We chose to dine here so we could sit comfortably.
Len ordered calamares. I ordered this seafood samplers. I was not pleased. The alimasag and shrimps just came out of their three-week ketosis diet.
Less than satisfied
It was still early so after our less than satisfying dinner, we walked to the other side of the building. The whole market area comprises three historic landmark buildings of shopping and dining. One can spend several hours here.
I consider it a huge blessing to be able to see the other parts of the globe, sit quietly in an outdoor bench free of charge, without anyone bothering me, watch people go by, listen to street musicians. #happiness #bostonstrong #iloveboston #freedom
