We took Uber back to our hotel from Quincy Market. It’s very convenient that we don’t have to have the cash to take Uber.
I counted my money when we arrived at the Friendly Inn, and oh my, I just have US dollar singles, a more decent way of saying that I have no more cash. I thought I still have a lot because they were bulky inside my wallet. When I counted them, I discovered they were all one-dollar bills.
I will never forget the article I read many years ago written about former first lady Imelda Marcos. When they were in exile in Hawaii, there was one moment when she counted the bills in her bag and they were all singles. According to the article, Mrs. Marcos said she realized those one-dollar bills also have value.
